There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God.I've always been good at following rules. Until she came. My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I'm twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again. I am a priest and this is my confession. ******Priest is a standalone, full-length novel with an HEA. For mature audiences only.***
I was really excited to finally read this book. A lot of my friends had raved about how amazing it was and I wanted to see for myself. I thought the plot was a bit Taboo which of course made it even more exciting to read. I had not even thought about a romance with a priest in it but it was a brilliant idea. Way to go Simone!!!
So..I should start by saying that this book is hot!!! I mean super hot!! Like you can’t pick up a paperback copy without getting burned hot..Okay…okay… so many I embellished a little but you get my drift lol
I struggled a bit with this book. I liked that it was mostly written in a male point view. Which is rare to find these days in romance books. It was refreshing and fun and frustrating beyond belief to read Father Bell’s thoughts. At some points I just wanted to smack him in the butt to get him going (and not in the fun way hehehe).
I would have like to see more interactions with secondary characters in the book. I felt like the whole book was just the two main characters and no one else. It was heartbreaking to see them struggle with their love but it was amazing to see them find a way to each other despite the obstacles they were confronted with.
Overall, I liked this story. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Simone has an amazing style of writing that I really enjoyed. 🙂
